	The NEW Mylandre Institute of Cosmetology is now OPEN! (click here for more details) Mylandre is a highly personalized salon that was started many years ago by Mylene Frances. Mylene is joined by her partner Susanne Hylen, who has been at Mylandre for four years.


	Mylene Frances Mylene moved to the U.S. from her native Paris in 1972. She was sent to New York by the Loreal firm to teach new hair color techniques, foil frosting, and color correction. She helped introduce Lancome products to America. After working in New York, she moved to Alexandria to open a salon that would focus on beauty from head to toe.

	Susanne Hylen Susanne is a native of Sweden and moved to the U.S. in 1996. Growing up in Sweden, she worked in beauty shops while in high school. She did hair shows for TV and magazines in Sweden. She then spent four years at beauty school Varnhemskolan in Malmo, Sweden. In the U.S. she joined the Institute of Hair and Nail Design in Annandale as a teacher, and then joined Mylene in 1997. Susanne is trained in the Pivot Point System.

Mary Longauer
Mary, who was originally with Mylandre, then went to work in LA and is now back with us after 8 years. She was trained at the Washington DC Beauty Academy and the California Academy and is licensed in two States. She was formerly with Pazazz, Friseurs, and Circe Salon Spa, but is now back at Mylandre Coiffures.

Both Mylene and Susanne are certified for Sothys treatments. Sothys is an exclusive brand of skin care products from France that has not become mass produced.It is not sold in discount stores like many other brands are. One of the best Sothys products is their Lift Defense Enriched Cream.
